I have read a few posts that indicated the poster needed a greater lens height to be satisfied with his progressive lens. I think George made such a comment.

I had read somewhere that 32 mm was the min height, but wonder if something like 35 mm would be better.
What are the experiences regarding this problem, and what is the minimum that users like?
Thanks,
Jerry

JerryM,

My comment about lens height was not specific to the progressive lenses I ordered. I actually didn't like the low lens height single vision lenses I first got from Zenni becaues I found that there were times that I was looking at things below the lens, like when I'd be using silverware during meals. I sort of got used to it, but never really liked it. I think those glasses had a lens height of 31mm, which isn't considered very small, but they were smaller than the glasses I owned previously.

My current progressive lenses have a lens height of 36, which was the highest lens height I could find in a style I liked. I also have a narrow pupil diameter which limits some of my frame choices.

I think you will be fine with any of the frames that say can be used with progressive lenses, as long as you like the style, and that is the size you like and/or are used to. Interestingly, some people like the smaller lens size in progressives because they don't have to look as far down to get to the near vision section.

Thanks, George. I had not considered that, "some people like the smaller lens size in progressives because they don't have to look as far down to get to the near vision section." One complaint from a friend was that he did not like progressives because he had to lift his head too high when he read.

My order of 31 Dec 2013 is still being processed. I suspect the Chinese New Year might have had something to do with the time. I think those glasses will let me determine what I like.

I have noted from various posts that the newer progressives are wider than the older ones.

Thanks, again,
Jerry
